Set up client credentials

Client credentials replace the username and password. Once Salesforce gives you the values, enter them in Field Nation.

Before you start

• Read Get client credentials first. It covers creating the External Client App and copying its values.
• The integration user and its permission set, created in Configure Salesforce, Steps 1 to 4
• Field Nation has enabled client credentials for your company. Until it does, keep using the username, password, and token.

Next: enter the values in Field Nation

When you reach Configure Field Nation, Step 3 (Credentials), enter the values as described in Enter the credentials in Field Nation.

Return to the configuration guide

Continue at Step 7 of Configure Salesforce. After Field Nation saves the connection, run the tests in Save and run end-to-end tests and check Event History. Then confirm the switch to client credentials as described in Verify the switch.
